How To Make a DIY Trip Wire Alarm System

Image
Have you ever thought about making an alarm when going camping or just to have one in case of emergency? Making a trip wire alarm system is easier than it seems at a first glance and it will notify you in case there is an emergency or an intruder near you. You will need to have a trigger, which will be made out of a wire, fishing line or twine. But when it comes to the mechanism, you have several variations. The most handy one would be to use a battery, so when the alarm is activated a spark would be made and the battery will burn the wires. To learn more about this mechanism and how to make it, check out the video tutorial from the video below and start building your very own trip wire alarm.

Meet The Woman Who’s Been Living Off The Grid For Over 30 Years!

Image
Meet Jill Redwood. For more than 30 years she has been living ‘off the grid’ in a home she built herself made entirely out of reused and recycled materials, with walls made from timber offcuts and cow dung. Ms Redwood, a writer and environmental activist, hates supermarkets and only eats food she’s grown and made herself on her 15-acre property on the edge of the forest in East Gippsland in Victoria. Jill built her house in East Gippsland, Australia where she has lived alone for over 30 years entirely off-grid with no mains power, water, mobile reception or television. Living on around $80 a week, Jill has over sixty animals to keep her company and an abundant garden that serves as an organic supermarket right outside her doorstep. Generating all her own solar power and collecting water from the local creek, Jill lives a totally self-sufficient life. (Scroll down for video) “Jill Redwood has lived a remarkable life. Owning a house in the United States costs at least $309,000. We must confess that it’s a bit too much. Now there is an opportunity for the Americans to become owners of a modern, well-built house for only $40,000. THE ARCHITECT BEHIND THE IDEA There’s a company that came up with a brilliant solution for this issue. It is offering affordable houses that they build for several hours. That’s an easy and cost-effective solution. That way, many people get a chance to become property owners. Renato Vidal is the architect behind the idea, who was shocked that affording a house was such a big problem for people. So he used his architect and financial experience and came up with the idea to build a “tiny home” that anyone would be able to afford. His latest desig...

Image
In 1968, Charles Bello and his wife Vanna Rae bought 400 acres of redwood forested land in Mendocino County and have spent the last 50 years creating a self-sustaining utopia. Working diligently year-after-year, the couple created the infrastructure for a completely off-the-grid compound that is both comfortable and beautiful. They bought the land for $2,800. Now, the house and accompanying acreage is worth $6 million. That being said, the Charles (a widower) isn’t looking to bank off his NorCal creation. Instead, he’s looking for people to keep the self-sustaining compound alive and working going into the future. Watch the below video to see the full compound in the wilderness of Mendocino County: Here is a full description of the above video and the story of Charles Bello: In 1968, Charles Bello and his wife, Vanna Rae, moved onto 240 acres of redwood forest looking to live a simpler life off the land.
